New Wines

We have just changed our wine supplier and have developed a list of wines that will hopefully suit all tastes and pockets. There will be a choice of three inexpensive white, two red wines and a rose. A sauvignon blanc from Spain crisp, dry and fruity, a pinot grigio from Italy easy drinking with citrus fruit flavours and a chenin blanc from South Africa fresh with balanced fruit and acidity. Our tempranillo/syrah blend from Spain - fruity and medium bodied and a Chilean Merlot has plum and black currant flavours. The rose tastes of lovely summer fruit.

In the medium price range, we are offering an award winning chardonnay from the south of France which rivals some white burgundies selling at a much higher price. The reds comprise a spicy Cotes du Rhone and a vibrant Rioja.

For the weekend, for a white wine choose between a signature Marlborough sauvignon blanc and a well-rounded Macon-Villages. The reds are a full bodied Argentinian malbec and a claret from the Graves region with complex red berry flavours.

If you prefer fizz, there is a prosecco and a champagne.

CackleBean Eggs

In case you haven’t already noticed we are now stocking the most exquisite eggs from Cackleberry Farm near Stow on the Wold. Run by Paddy and Steph Bourns, their rare breed flocks live in traditional chicken houses on 12 acres of land, with perches and are entirely free range.

These eggs are quite literally flying off the shelf and we keep placing bigger and bigger orders – try one and see for yourself, just crack one and look at the colour!
These eggs are so good they would even make a great Christmas present for the 'friend who has everything'?

Fresh Fish from Padstow

We are about to start supplying fish on a fortnightly basis and will be taking orders during the fortnight for delivery on a Thursday. We will be using a company based in Cheltenham whose family have fishing boats working out of Padstow. As well as delivering pre ordered fish vacuum packed (suitable for freezing) on the Thursday, the Van will also be parked outside the shop for a period of time during the day. Please let us know if this is a service you feel will be of interest as we try and gauge the demand.

Our first visit is set for Thursday 3rd December so please enquire in store for more information or to place an order.

This fish will be as fresh as any you can buy in the Cotswolds.
